hadoop - Apache Bigtop Installation on RHEL 7 -


i'm seeking help, have been tasked standing hadoop cluster @ work. have done single node stuff on laptops @ home open source stack (i trying stick open source, apache stack avoid licensing costs. right have no interest in cloudera or hortonworks.).

i came across apache bigtop stack (1.2.0) , poked around in there. right still trying wrap head around provides (i have not found reference hadoop/spark versions, etc..). on following:

  1. what versions of hadoop/spark/other tools 1.2.0 version provide?

  2. is there reference on installing full hadoop/spark cluster scratch under rhel 7? have 12 servers, plan on doing 2 namenodes , 10 datanodes. bigtop appropriate this, or should install each package , configure manually?

  3. i found following:

which looks promising, centos 7, know similar, not same. can suggest how can modify work under rhel 7? found repos, none rhel....

  1. the documentation seems pretty slim on official apache page, or maybe i'm not looking in right spot... there links references out there full cluster install?
